What Castor Oil is
Castor oil is the pressed oil of castor seeds. It is unusually thick and sticky, which is why people use a little on eyebrows, lashes and dry ends. The Urdu shelf name is روغن ارنڈی.
How people in Pakistan use it
Warm a few drops between the palms. For the scalp, mix it half and half with a lighter oil such as almond or coconut so it spreads. Wash it out; castor oil left in long hair tangles.
Choosing a pack
120 ml is the starter bottle. 500 ml suits a monthly oiling habit. 1 litre is the family bottle if more than one person uses it. The price on each button is for that size only.
A plain caution
This is a cosmetic oil. Do not drink it unless a clinician has told you to. It can stain pillowcases.
