Multani mitti, rose water, aloe and neem
Clay masks, mixers and the sharp oils that need diluting. Packs and cautions for a home bowl.
Which powder is which
Multani mitti is the pale clay most people mean: 100 g, 250 g or 1 kg. Bentonite (gachi) is a different clay. Ubtan is the gram-flour wash. Sandal powder is a fragrant pinch — start at 25 g.
Mixers and face oils
Rose water in 250 ml or 800 ml is the mixer. Aloe gel is the cool jar, 50 g or 100 g. Aloe oil, jojoba, argan and rosehip are 10 ml bottles — one drop, not a pour. Neem comes in 60 ml and up; tea tree stays at 10 ml. Both need a carrier.
How long to leave a mask
Mix clay with rose water or plain water. Leave until dry but not cracking. Once a week. Rinse and moisturise. Skip broken skin. Stop when it stings. These are cosmetics, not a complexion treatment.
