What Amla Powder is
Amla powder is dried gooseberry, milled. It is sour and it is the classic Sunday mask. It is not the ready oil and it is not a capsule.
How people in Pakistan use it
Stir with warm water or yoghurt until it spreads. Apply from roots to ends, wait about twenty minutes, and rinse. Follow with a light oil if the hair feels squeaky. Henna and boxed dye can react, so strand-test coloured hair.
Choosing a pack
250 g makes several masks. 500 g and 1 kg are for someone who masks often or shares the bowl. Shikakai powder is the separate wash powder if you want that herb alone.
A plain caution
Keep it out of the eyes. It will not turn hair black and it will not reverse baldness.

Strand-test first. Acidic powders and dye do not always agree.
