What Kalonji Seeds is
These are the small black seeds, کلونجی. Whole seeds are for tarka and naan. Crushed seeds are broken. Powder is milled. The oil is not in this list.
How people in Pakistan use it
Toast whole seeds in a little oil until they smell nutty, then finish a daal or a vegetable. Powder is easier to stir into dough. Start with a small pack if you have only used the bottled oil before.
